For most 8 year olds, Iron Man is a yes, and the hardest part comes first. It scores 44 on the ScoutScore, in the Mild tier, from the opening ambush where Tony is wounded and soldiers around him are killed, and from Yinsen's death later, shot while buying Tony time to escape. Obadiah Stane also tortures Tony near the end, paralyzing him and tearing the device from his chest while he's helpless. The rest is an origin story that trusts its hero to be funny. The two death scenes are the ones to know going in.
