For most 9 year olds, Star Wars is a yes, and the two moments that decide it aren't the lightsabers. It scores 64 on the ScoutScore, in the Bold tier, mostly from Luke finding his aunt and uncle burned to skeletons in their ruined home, and a cantina brawl where Obi-Wan severs an alien's arm in a single, bloody stroke. Vader force-chokes two officers across the film, and Leia is forced to watch her home planet destroyed. None of it lingers. All of it is aimed at a launch, not a wound.
