For most 5 year olds, Moana 2 is a yes with one scene that needs a parent close by. It scores 32 on the ScoutScore, in the Mild tier, and nearly everything is adventure-comedy: coconut pirates, a giant clam, a sister's fear of being left behind. The exception is the climax, where Moana is struck by lightning and dies before her ancestors bring her back. It is brief and it resolves happily, but it is a real depiction of a hero's death, not a metaphor.
