For most 10 year olds, Avengers: Endgame is early unless they have followed the series closely, and the reason is what the movie asks its heroes to pay. It scores 73 on the ScoutScore, in the Bold tier, from Thor beheading Thanos in the opening minutes, an extended yakuza massacre with blood shown on the ground, and a finale that costs two of the original Avengers their lives, one by sacrifice and one by choice. The three-hour runtime is also a real ask. This is a movie about grief and debt as much as it is about a final battle.
