For most 10 year olds, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is early, and the villain is why. It scores 73 on the ScoutScore, in the Bold tier, and Jean Grey earns every point of it: she subjects a captive to sustained telepathic experiments that reveal a child died in the same room, possesses MJ and walks her toward a rooftop edge, and the story ends with Frank Castle shooting Peter at close range to save her.
