For most 4 year olds, Despicable Me 4 is an easy yes, in keeping with the whole franchise. It scores 26 on the ScoutScore, in the Mild tier, and the one scene worth knowing is a villain kidnapping baby Gru Jr. and briefly turning him into a cockroach hybrid before the family gets him back. Everything else is slapstick: a child kicking a strict instructor, Mega Minions crushing a parked car, a honey badger heist. The tone never stops being silly, even when the plot turns to family safety.
